A glossary is an alphabetical list of terms in a particular domain of knowledge with the definitions for those terms. Traditionally, a glossary appears at the end of a book and includes terms within that book which are either newly introduced or at least uncommon. Wikipedia
TC-SOFT Glossary lists software related terms that are typically found in articles documenting robotics software systems and research results.
Often these terms are used with different meaning and sometime authors provide their own definition of these terms. This proliferation of definitions for the same terms entangles the reader and reduces her ability to understand the article content and compare its contribution with the state-of-the-art.
The motivation for the TCSOFT Glossary is to help the comprehension of the meaning of common software terms. For this purpose, each term in the glossary is associated to a lists of the three most cited definitions in the software engineering literature and to a list of the most recent publications in the robotics literature that use the term.
The Glossary is hosted in the TC-SOFT Wiki to allow authors to add references to their papers and even to add terms to the glossary.
